A Moment with Jayden

Cruising away from me!!

Ok, coming back to me! He's really getting good at walking. He tries to run, then falls!

If you look on his cheek, you can see a bruise in the shape of a line. He fell face first into the edge of the toybox. He didn't like the way that felt. This bruise is 3 days old.

Giving mom some "AWWWWW" time. Whenever we say "AWWWW", he snuggles. It's so cute.

Wal-Mart

I got to say, I do think it's funny that Wal-Mart totally freaked out today when they heard Hillary Clinton was coming. Yes, to Wal-Mart. She wanted to talk on the radio live and eat hot dogs! They called the home office and the home office was freaking out. We had to send people outside to clean up garbage from the fences, entry ways and parking lot. Have you ever tried to clean that crap up in winds that are 50 MPH. It's basically a losing battle. Is it not acceptable for Hillary Clinton to see a store that has garbage? Then inside management was running around with their heads cut off, cleaning, organizing, and holding meetings on what to do. Of course, home office freaked and us CSM's had to go tell all of our cashiers a message, the same message everyone in the store got. 1) They are not allowed in pictures. There would be lots of cameras obviously. 2) They are not allowed to answer political questions. They could talk about CMN and how we support it. Anyhow Wal-Mart needs to remain neutral, which is the reason for that. I guess by being in a picture, that means Wal-Mart supports Hillary. Good grief. Sometimes I think people just jump to such extremes. So the whole store is in tip top shape, associates and managers are ready and we get the call from the local police department.....she's running late, she's on the freeway by Flandreu and will not be making it. So after all that, all the panties that got wadded up, the people whose hopes were elevated, and the countless wasted minutes, Hillary never came to Wal-Mart. Lesson learned.

On a side note, I have a terrible cold. My taste buds don't work at all and I have this very delicious brownie I bought from the bake sale that I cannot taste! I think over half of our household is sick. Hopefully we're well for next weekend!!

One Handsome Boy, One Beautiful Girl

Jayden got over 2 inches cut off his hair. He screamed and cried!
But doesn't he look handsome now!
And Miss Devin got a cute little "bob" cut. It's adorable!
So this was last night. Jayden thought he was cute wearing Devin's pull-up.
Hey Mom!

Schools Out!

So I was bombarded with 4 very excited kids today at 12:09pm! That's right, another school year has ended. They all piled in with backpacks stuffed full of school supplies and crumpled papers. After finally getting settled and papers getting tossed, they played a little Wii.

Walking!

Jayden is finally walking! He still crawls a lot, but as of today, he will walk from the entertainment center to the couch or just wherever in the living room. He's really cute because he sticks his arms up and wobbles a lot. He loves playing with the kitty and gets really excited when she's around. He just laughs and laughs and crawls over to her and pets her. He's amazing with her.

We're taking all 6 kids to the dentist tomorrow in Sioux Falls. That should be fun! I think it will go ok, since they're going to the Children's Dental Center.

Only 3 days of school left!!

Shaylee's Track Meet

Today was the annual 4th and 5th grade track meet. It was postphoned to today due to the rain last Friday. Devin, Jayden, and I walked over there and watched Shaylee. She did so good. I'm so proud of her!
Here she is talking to the lady in charge of the high jump.
Getting ready to do the high jump.
Running, almost there!
And over the bar she goes. She ended up clearing 2'9" at the highest jump for her.
Waiting her turn for the long jump.
Awesome! She jumped over 10 feet here! Her second jump was 9 feet something!
Running the 200 meter. She took 4th place here. She said it was really hard.

Waiting for gun to go up on the 200 meter.

Running the 200 meter. She took 1st place here! Good job Shaylee!

Meet the Newest Addition to our Family!

We've been looking for a kitten to add to our family for awhile now. I had been
busy searching the Sioux Falls and Brookings Humane Society. I finally found this cute
little girl right here in Brookings. Some college students found her sitting in the middle
of the road about a week ago and picked her up and gave her to the Brookings Human Society.
She was born middle of March, so she's just 2 months old. Her adoptive name is "China", but
we haven't decided if that's the name she will keep. The gray on the top of her head is
in the shape of a heart and she also has one little gray ringlet on her tail. Her
eyes are the brightest blue! She is very mellow
and has a quiet personality. We already love her!

Attack of the Jayden!

It all starts out so innocent. Just hanging out on
the floor playing with a teether.
Then he starts testing the water by patting the suspect.

And then rolls onto the suspect after losing his balance...

Ok, one more time. He knows he can get her.

Testing it again. Ok, looks safe. Here we go!

Got her!

Trip to Doctor for Jayden

So I went to pick Jayden up today and I felt a bump under his arm kind of by his breast. I could move it around and it was about the size of a pea. It freaked me out to say the least, so I scheduled an appointment for the doctor. I tell you, this child is going to turn me gray! The worrying he causes me is crazy sometimes. Anyhow, it is his lymp glands. The doctor thought the placement of it was kind of in a rare place and is usually associated with a cut or injury in the hand. Jayden's hands are fine, he has no cuts or owies of any kind. So doctor thinks it has to do with his infection. He doesn't think it feels like a tumor or cancer, but rather the nodes are swollen. If it doesn't improve within the next two weeks, then they need to do blood work and further investigating.

Busy Day

We've been on the go all day today. We started by going out to Kathy's and looking at her kittens. She has two batches of them, one set is almost a month old, and one set was just born yesterday. Gosh are they adorable. Devin, Jayden and Grace played. We then headed into town to get my return to work note from the doctor, then went to Walmart, then to the SDSU bookstore to return books, then to Medary school for Joseph's play. He was super cute to watch, but Jayden was so tired, he slept through the whole thing. The rest of the day we cleaned and hung curtains and put more stuff into storage. All of a sudden it's late! Whew!

Joseph's Concert

Joseph had a spring concert tonight and did really well. He stood right in the front row and everytime he got done singing he woudl look at us. When we were clapping he would clap too. You could tell he was proud of what he was doing. During one of the songs, childen in the back row held up letters which spelled AMERICA, except the little girl who had the C had it backwards. The whole audience laughed. Another song they wore sunglasses. It was really cute. Jayden loved watching it and was making his own sounds as well. Here are some pictures.

An Amazing Sunday

We ventured to Pioneer Park today. The weather was
so beautiful. The kids had a great time playing.

Shawndra and Shaylee. Hard to believe there
is only 4 months between them in age!

Jayden's first time on the swing. He screamed!

Then he decided this isn't so bad and had fun!

Dalton posing on the turtle!

Ok, Joseph's turn!

And they tried telling us they didn't have fun. I beg to differ!

One Year Ago Today.....

One year ago today, my baby was in the hospital again, having major surgery because of his apnea. They did a stomach wrap where he ended up with a G-Tube and fixed his bowels which were malrotated. It's hard to believe where we were one year ago and where we are now. A year ago, I didn't know if he would live...

This is a picture of me holding him before surgery while he was in the PICU. I was really emotional.

Dad giving Jayden some loving before surgery. He was so calm and peaceful because he hadn't eaten in over a day, so he was having no reflux.

This is our baby after his major surgery.

And me, so thankful to be able to hold him again.
